 “What’s a better job for a Marine than pest control?” Chris jokes. “It’s not much of a job difference—I just deal with a different kind of pest.” 

But pest control didn’t just happen to him; it became his passion. Chris’s relentless curiosity drove him to study insect biology, a deeper understanding that soon set him apart in his field.

“When I started studying the biology of insects and learning everything I could, that’s when it clicked. Customers started requesting me because I wasn’t just solving their pest problems—I was helping educate them.”

“I thought that was it,” he says. “I couldn’t see how I’d physically get back to it. But the Marine Corps mindset took over.”

Even then, more obstacles were thrown in his way—a cancer diagnosis in 2023 slowed down his progress. But, now, he’s cancer-free and back at what he needs to do to adapt and thrive.

“You adapt, you overcome obstacles, and you find a way forward. My wife, who is my greatest supporter, reminded me to lean on my strengths and take things one step at a time. Together, we pulled through.”
